Dr. You Jin Park 

Dr. You Jin Park is a passionate pianist, accompanist, music teacher, and lecturer. She was
born in Busan, South Korea. She earned a bachelor's and master's degree in piano performance at Dong-A University (Busan, South Korea) where she achieved the five-year full scholarships with a top GPA for both degrees. Ms. Park also served as a coadjutor (one year) at
the department of music at the school. She then studied and completed her doctoral degree in piano performance at Shenandoah Conservatory (Winchester, Virginia) with the honor of winning the Bach-Handel Competition (2005) and Student Soloists Competition (2009).


In 2006 she had a lecture-recital as a guest lecturer at Washington Baptist University (Annandale, Virginia). There Dr. Park began her professional career as adjunct faculty starting in 2017. Since 2016, Ms. Park has studied in the Artist Graduate Certificate Program in piano performance at George Mason University to enhance and improve her musical professionalism. Studying with Professor Anna Balakerskaia for piano performance and chamber music, Ms. Park was chosen and performed as a semi-finalist at the Liszt-American International Competition (Ohio) in 2017. She has also had many performance opportunities in solo recitals, Dr. Anna’s Studio Recitals, honors recitals, and Arts by George Showcase's at George Mason University.

Dr. Park has been studying with her private students from ages 4 years old to 70 for many years. She works with various levels of difficulties, different cultural backgrounds, and musical diversities. She has been involved in musical events under her membership of MTNA for several years, (both through the Virginia Music Teachers Association and the Shenandoah Valley Association since 2008).

Ms. Park serves as church pianist for worship services and church choirs (in both Traditional and Contemporary Church Music Styles) at the Shining Star Community Church (Falls Church, Virginia). She has enjoyed doing this for over ten years. She has also accompanied and performed with Washington Elders Choir (2005-2007), Shepherd Choir and Opera in Washington (2014-2016), and conducted and played for youth volunteers at Hepzibah Youth Community Outreach Club (Non-profit organization, 2014-2018) to perform in regional community centers every month. For serving the organization, she received The President’s Volunteer Service Award in 2016-
