The League

What is The League?

The League is a professional association of music educators which strives to provide excellent musical instruction to the next generation of musicians in the Washington DC metropolitan area. We serve a population of highly gifted students who wish to receive training from the area’s best and brightest. The League has many functions.

We educate.

Our first priority is to teach wonderful music to highly gifted students.

At The League, we empower musicians to live exciting, inspiring, and significant creative lives—and so far we have been very successful.

Our students have found themselves accepted to the nation’s most prestigious universities and conservatories. In just the past 5 years alone, we have sent members of our student body to the following schools:

  • The Juilliard School

  • Columbia University

  • Barnard College

  • Harvard University

  • Duke University

  • Rice University

  • Virginia Tech

  • James Madison University

At The League, we take responsibility for our craft and we inspire our students to do the same.

We innovate.

Our academy is the home of a state-of-the-art recording facility. Outfitted with high-quality microphones, audio monitors, guitar and bass amplifiers, plus the industry's most advanced digital audio workspaces (DAWs), our recording studio has created wildly successful solo and ensemble recording tracks. Our teaching artists have accumulated over 5 million industry-wide listens on online streaming platforms (which is a great way to generate passive income). Membership in The League entitles you to free access to these recording facilities and expert recording advisors. When you sign on to teach in The League, we provide you with everything you need to record your next single, EP, or album.

We build community.

By establishing a coalition of talented music educators, we have cultivated a flourishing social space for creators, innovators and thought leaders to gather and connect. Our academy was custom-designed with an iconic and timeless interior in order to facilitate thought-provoking cultural and musical experiences.

The League’s members are also encouraged to build friendships with each other by attending our monthly off-site social receptions. Our off-site events provide the ideal environment for cultivating creative potential, building real and authentic relationships, and of course enjoying delicious food and drink.

We perform.

Perhaps the most exciting perk of joining The League is the performance opportunities. We have annual and bi-annual faculty recitals at various performance venues, including but not limited to Carnegie Hall, Wolf Trap, Kennedy Center, and Lincoln Center. By joining The League, you can start, continue, or revive a rewarding and exciting performing life.
